Grounded .....

........ all those poor people. I really for them stranded in far flung exotic places!! Ahem!! Mind you, wouldn't you be sick if you had paid for a happy holiday in the sun and weren't able to get. Who would have thought volcanic activity would have caused so much bother in UK. just as long as the banana supply doesn't dry up, it doesn't really affect me.

My guys and i are just back from a wee lil trip to London and we just missed all this disruption. Next holiday is in June with the girlies so fingers crossed the spewing has well and truly finished by then!

So, I thought i would share some creations with you. First of all a wedding card for some friends. Can you tell I like purple? I love the patterned satin ribbon too.

Next up, a wee selection of small cards for various occassions. I love being able to use one layout and get lots of different results. Purple again although Perfect Plum this time as my Elegant Eggplant cardstock supply is well and truly depleted!

I'll be able to use this design with lots of different colours and it will allow me use up a lot of old paper and card i have. I do really need to make some room in my little haven so this is a good thing :)

And isn't the news so exciting, rich razzleberry WILL BE AVAILABLE *jumps up and down .... again * I so cannot wait for this. I could go on for hours about this one colour .... but I won't.

I have found some new blogs that I adore so am off to satisfy my obsession.

Maybe back soon!

Rich Razzleberry and the ultimate in disappointment

Well, well, welll, does it really surprise you that the Americans get ALL the good stuff.

While having a wee look around the WWW I was oh so excited to stumble across a US copy of the Stampin' Up catalogue. I downloaded it, printed it and had it bound. New ideas, tips and all that but my oh my the differences in the products available is almost unbearable. Rich razzleberry now has to be my most fav colour ever, and I mean EVER! Just look at that ribbon, the fact that I can't have it just makes me want to cry :(

There are also funky stamp collections, lots of diff punches and papers to die for .... and don't get me started on the buttons! Sherbet buttons .... delicious, cordorouy covered buttons ... devine. *sob*sob*sob*

That's I suppose a failing of SU, u cant order this stuff online which really sucks. You have to order through a demonstator ...... I don't know anyone in USA ...... how disappointing is that?

Whilst I'm feeling all neglected and disappointed can I just also mention that I live in a town that doesn't even have book store!!! This is me, the wee girl who only ever wanted to live in a castle with a huge library and a craft room ...... nothing else mattered ......

Think that's as much disappointment as I can manage for today!

Blog's Alive!!!!!

Well Goodness Gracious Me ....Happy New Year everyone!

A new year and time to make an appearance on ye olde blog. Kinda was a bit half hearted about this in the run-up to the end of year hols. Sorry for not blogging to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Excuses ..... i have none ..... none at all ..... just busy doing other things .... or if im truly honest .... but doing nowt much lol.

Actually, the week before Christmas especially was busy .... with parties, parties and more parties. There was of course also the snow, ice, last minute shopping and cars in ditches!!

Don't you just love snowy scenes tho .... here are a couple taken in Portadown (where we live) yesterday.

Doesn't it look lovely. I sure some clown from town will don ice boots and try to Jane Torville it up the river!! Ironically there is a funeral parlour just to the right of the bridge there .... just in case! TBH it is nice n all but the novelty of having a white Christmas, New Year and weeks after has totally worn off. Today it has started to thaw a little so hopefully conditions will be less dangerous. The weather has been slightly obsessive this past week with every news bulletin making reference to it ..... I even was dreaming last night about temperatures dropping so far below zero that it would be impossible to survive! i don't believe the whole global warming thing either ..... winters and temperatures years ago were just as extereme .... people just got on with it without complaining!
Ah well, that'll do for now, don't want to burn out so early in the year ..... *hugs* for all and i look forward to entertaining you with my ridiculous little life in 2010.

It's wats on the inside that counts .......

ok, so this isn't me under the mask, but it does help get across a certain message.

This is No.2 son at the Hallowe'en party on Saturday night. You wouldn't think to look at him here but he is the sweetest, kindest boy ever, always ready and willing to lend a hand. He also has this knack of giving company to those who might otherwise sit on their own all night. I love him to bits.

Applying this book/cover thing to me, Im not pretty, im overweight, Im no fashion icon, dont have money to throw about and dont own the latest must have accessorie BUT my family love me and that's all that truly matters. I do feel we live in an extremely materialistic society and culture that puts more importance on how people look and what they have rather than how people feel and act. I think I have done a good job in instilling good old fashioned values into my boys :)

When I last wrote, my creativity had gone, that is still the case so, rather than sit and do nothing I have been busy making inserts for my yet to be masterpieces. See, the inside counts .... see where im going with this! I love cards, pretty colourful ones but I do tend to pick shop bought cards according the verse inside. It is a very important element. A lot of people have expressed this as important to them too so I have taken the time to find some nice verses and had them printed up. All I need now are the cards to put them in lol.

Perhaps some blog hopping will help .............

What's Up Doc?

No2 son is a Dr Who fanactic! When in Blackpool we visited the Dr Who exhibition which was brilliant ..... this was his purchase. A 1000 piece jigsaw. Doesn't it look well, I did help him just a little. He did really well to stick at it to get it completed ..... short pepole and short concentration spans and all that!

Now, i'm going to try again to add a pic to the middle of my blog, i've seen it on many other posts so I know it can be done!

Ok, so it's not great and I imagine I did take the long way around to do this but at least the picture is there. I will practice to try get it to look more balanced with the rest of the blog. This is fanatical son No2 in side a Dalek, he had a ball in there :)
You know, I haven't made a card now in almost 3 weeks. I did miss it but now, i'm getting to the stage where my inspiration has totally left me. I don't find myself thinking of layouts and colour combos. I have no inclination to retreat to my haven for a couple of hours of crafting therapy. I should be getting stuck into it big style what with Christmas only weeks away. Not much time to get all my cards etc sorted. Any ideas of quick 'n' easy fab looking cards would be much appreciated lol. Just to get me going again like.
Now, enough posting for the minute. I'm off to take it easy for the rest of my weekend, cuppa tea n a muffin has my name on it ....... bliss xx

Sunny Blackpool!

Yes, it was sunny, can you believe it? The weather arrived just for us and made our weekend even more enjoyable.

We made it to the top (well almost the top) of the tower and did the 'Walk of Faith'. This was about 10am and I couldn't believe the number of people that were out and about. We even had to queue for about 30 mins to get the top. I suppose it was 'cos the illuminations were on too.

Foto is later on in the day, prob about nearing 5pm, 2 very tired boys. They weren't really that grumpy, honest, they were play acting lol, didn't like being behind bars!!

Have to say I wasn't impressed at all by the lights! Wasn't worth taking a trip just for that. Lucky for us, we were visting and staying with some family there so there was plenty of craic :) At least I can say, and the boys can say, they've seen them. We did have a very enjoyable trip with lots of new experiences.

Oh I feel a song and line dance coming one ......... Penny Arcade lol, off we go, yeeehaaa xx

The Slug and the Lettuce

Oh, I have been such a bad blogger, such a neglectful blogger, please forgive me, it has been over 2 weeks since my last blog lol.

I do have an excuse .... i mean, a very valid explanation :) I have been otherwise engaged ..... and if you had read my previous entry you would have known why ..... ok, i'll wait while you go check!!

Oh, go on then. I was in Blackpool for a weekend with my boys ...... proof?! Here u go .... now, i've tried to add a foto just to show u, but I haven't be able to figure out how to get it in the middle of the post!!! so i'll just have to add another post.

Lol, no posts for a while, now u's willl be sick of me.

The next weekend I was in Newcastle with my girlie friends. Hence the picture, The Sage Hall, also affectionately known by locals as the Slug!! Can you understand why. I have to tell how daft we girls are tho. We had brunch in a restaurant just across the river from this amazing structure. Because of the location we thought thats how it (the restaurant) got its name. How were we supposed to know that The Slug and the Lettuce was a chain of eateries!! They sure don't have any in Norn Iron. Anyway, a nice wee lad (from East Belfast (over at Uni) I might add ... woo hoo) who worked there explained it to us. Moral of the story .... don't give 4 Irish women wine with their breakfast ...... can u guess how the rest of the trip panned out??

Doesn't the slug make a brilliant picture!! Back soon with some more ....... xx
